Event Description
International Cooperation Lunch Event organised by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and KfW.
The European Union and its member states are putting the final touches to their strategies for Rio+20. The Rio+20 Conference is expected to provide a comprehensive framework for the future of international cooperation for sustainable development. What role is there for renewable energy? How can state actors create an environment in which local entrepreneurs can thrive and provide the services and goods requested by people in the developing world? How can actors in international cooperation make sure that future growth models take into account our planet’s limited natural resources? How can the Sustainable Energy for All Initiative (SE4All) act as a catalyst?
These questions will be discussed by renowned international policy makers and practitioners:
- Mr. Benon Mutambi, Executive Director of the Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA) of Uganda
- Ms. Anna Ingwe, Energy Efficiency Expert and Private Sector Advisor, Kenya
- Mr. Klaus Rudischhauser, Director, Directorate-General for Development and Cooperation EuropeAid, European Commission
- Ms. Gudrun Kopp, Parliamentary State Secretary at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development
- Mr. Norbert Kloppenburg, Member of the Board of Directors of KfW
- Mr. Christoph Beier, Member of the Management Board of GIZ
The buffet will be open from 12:00 p.m. onwards.
