Event Description
EU agencies have continued to grow in number and, in many cases, have come to play an important role in decision-making and the implementation of EU Law. There is a continuing debate over their powers and functioning, as well as their overall positioning within the EU organisational structures.
This seminar will address the management challenges, and the perspectives for further change. It will recall the reasons which over the years led to the creation of EU agencies; look in detail at the different ways in which EU agencies participate in EU policy processes; and offer an exchange of experiences and practices regarding a variety of management, governance and legal issues which have arisen, including their use of scientific expertise.
