The Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung and the Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival cordially invite to a panel discussion with the up-and-coming documentary film producers of "Emerging Producers 2018".

While the 68th Berlinale is waiting for its opening at the Potsdamer Platz, we will talk about the significance of documentary films in times in which fake news have become omnipresent in today's media.

The discussion will be followed at 5.30 pm by a screening of the "Between the Seas Award" winner at the 21st Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival Opera about Poland by Piotr Stasik (Poland 2017, 41min, Polish/English subtitles).

A Q&A Session with the director Piotr Stasik and the producer Anna Gawlita will take place after the screening.

About

Emerging Producers is a flagship project of the Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival and the only one of its kind designed for documentary film producers in Europe. Every year we select 18 talented producers, which we provide with educational, networking and promotional support. The main objective of the programme is to interconnect talented European producers with other film professionals, especially those working in documentary cinematography. The project should also provide the participants with an easy access to information in the field of audiovision, deeper and wider orientation in the film market but also help them to establish contacts with producers from other countries, and thus increase the potential of future European coproduction projects.

A small reception after the discussion will be provided.
