Event Description
Title: Success in EU Negotiations: The Key Skills for Shaping EU Decisions in Commission Committees and Council Bodies, EIPA
Location: Brussels (BE) (MCE conference centre)
Date: 14-16 March 2017
This three-day skills-oriented course aims to help participants improve their abilities to influence processes of multilateral negotiation anywhere within the EU governance system. Specific skills are required to participate effectively in these processes and shape their outcome. The course trains six essential skills that are required to successfully represent positions and interests. They are methodological, strategic, diplomatic, behavioural and rhetorical. The course transfers both the technical know-how and the politically correct tools which are required to exert credible influence as a delegate holding a mandate in EU multilateral and intercultural negotiation processes.

Objective
Oceans cover more than two-thirds of our planet. They are rich in resources and provide people with food, energy, and a stable climate.
60 Years after the signing of the Rome Treaty, Europe is not a pretty sight. The UK is leaving after a guest performance of 44 years; populism and Euroscepticism prevail in many Member States; the days of an ‘ever closer union’ seem to be numbered.
This year’s seminar builds on the 2016 ISC science-for-development seminar, which helped to advance the agenda for Europe-Africa cooperation, especially in the science field.
