Event Description

The World of Work is changing fast due to trends of digitalisation, automation and, more recently, the Covid-19 pandemic. In the context of the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union and its strong focus on employment and social affairs, the World Employment Confederation-Europe and its Portuguese national federation member APESPE-RH organise a webconference on June 17, to discuss how to shape the world of work and adapt workforce ecosystems to the new normal.

The World of Work is changing fast due to trends of digitalisation, automation and, more recently, the Covid-19 pandemic. This crisis has strongly impacted people, economies and labour markets. With the Porto Social Summit and the adoption of the European Pillar of Social Rights, the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union is putting a strong focus on employment and social affairs and the changing world of work. The World Employment Confederation-Europe seeks to contribute constructively to these debates, through a series of publications and discussions at EU and global level. Our Portuguese APESPE-RH is also a strong advocate at national level, with its recently published “M7 Report”, which focuses on appropriate regulation for the agency work industry to further unlock its contribution to job creation and better functioning labour markets.

The webconference “Workforce Ecosystems: Welcome to the future! Shaping the world of work in the new normal” aims to provide a forum for discussion and exchange based on evidence and recommendations developed by the World Employment Confederation-Europe and APESPE-RH to shape the world of work and adapt workforce ecosystems to the new normal.
