Event Description
In the framework of the EU Green Week 2021, the municipality of Cascais is organizing the webinar The Zero Pollution Ambition and Local Authorities, to take place on the 3rd of June 2021 from 10h00 to 11h30 CET.
The EU Action Plan Towards Zero Pollution for Air, Water and Soil, The EU Green Deal, the Biodiversity strategy for 2030, the fight and adaptation to climate change, alongside mobility, smart cities, and other European priorities, significantly impact the local reality. Therefore, it is up to local authorities to translate the European goals into concrete policies and deliver its targets.
This conference will bring together European decision-makers and local/regional authorities to debate the importance of the Zero pollution Ambition, how it can be achieved, how the European goals affect the local reality and how local authorities turn these goals into reality by closely working with citizens. Members of the European Parliament and European Commission will share an overview of what has been set on the European level, and local authorities and the Committee of the Regions will bring their local view. By the end of the debate, the goal is to remember that without local implementation European ambitions and targets cannot be achieved.
The event's agenda can be found here, and here you will find the link for registration.
