Event Description
Join the Consumer Choice Center for a live discussion on the role of IP rights in preventing future pandemics.
With the COVID vaccine being rolled out across the EU,there couldn't be a better moment to stress the importance of IP rights protection. IP rights are instrumental in boosting innovation and expanding consumer choice.

When: February 19th at 11 AM CET
CCC Senior European Affairs Manager Luca Bertoletti will host an online debate between Franc Bogovič MEP (Slovenia) and James Tumbridge (Venner Shipley LLP).
Key questions on the agenda:
- Where do we draw a fine line between the need to ensure vaccines, masks and PPE are distributed quickly and fairly and the necessity to incentivise innovators?
- Is the protection of intellectual property rights actually biased towards the inventor or is it needed to guarantee prosperity for all?
- How to improve the EU healthcare strategy?
- If not with the help of IP rights protection, how can we incentivise innovators?
- What are the implications of IP rights violations for consumer choice?
