Patents in Europe: Statistics, trends and rankings for 2020
Event Description
How did the pandemic affect patent activity in 2020? Which companies filed the most patent applications for their inventions last year? Which countries and regions performed well in 2020 despite the global disruption? And which technologies were the main drivers of innovation?
On 16 March 2021 you can find out when the European Patent Office (EPO) publishes its Patent Index 2020.
This year’s index will include:
- Analysis of demand for patents in Europe
- Rankings of top patenting countries and companies
- Focus on trends in digital technologies and health sciences inventions
