Event Description
EUCOPE together with Novartis Gene Therapies, is organising an in-person expert briefing session hosted by MEP Radka Maxová (S&D, CZ).
The session will take place on 26 October from 14.00 – 15.00 CET, at the European Parliament (room 3H1).
The session will focus on the complexities surrounding developing and producing paediatric medicines in Europe. Additionally, it will seek to underscore the possibilities for establishing a European framework that facilitates quicker patient access to these medications.
Experts in the field will delve into the discussion around the challenges involved in identifying paediatric needs, the potential solutions that could further strengthen the innovation in paediatric development, and how a multistakeholder collaboration can foster an environment where paediatric therapies receive holistic attention and development, by bringing more investments in the EU's research and ultimately benefiting patients.

The speaker panel will be joined by Fabio D’Atri (D1 - Medicines: Policy, authorisation and monitoring - Policy Officer), Martine Pergent, (President of Patient Organisation for Primary Immunodeficiency), Pauline Roudot (Associate Director Regulatory Policy & Intelligence, Novartis), and Saskia N. de Wildt (Professor of Clinical Pharmacology at Radboud University).
