Background

Since its creation in 2008, the SGI Europe CSR Label has been an important tool that has demonstrated that, across the EU, providers, and employers of services of general interest (SGIs) are particularly conscious of the impact their operations have on society and the environment.

The 8th edition of the CSR Label will highlight in particular the enormous contributions SGIs have been making since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis to support the citizens, businesses, and territories they serve, showing their responsible behavior, and their involvement in the recovery actions for building a more resilient society.

Contributing to long term sustainable growth remains indeed one of SGI Europe highest priorities and that is why constantly cooperate with EU, national and local institutions in order to provide our members with the best possible conditions to bring that priority into life. Against that background, whereas SGI Europe fully supports the concept of sustainable finance and believes in the enabling role of the EU Taxonomy Regulations to achieve the objectives of the EU Green Deal, SGI providers need a dedicated framework to empower them to mainstream and scale up their actions through sustainable finance towards environmental and social sustainability.

That is why, this edition of the SGI Europe CSR Label announces the ambitious transition to a new generation for the label, committed to supporting SGI providers in complying with the new requirements and leading to the effective deployment of the EU sustainable finance strategy.

The first part of the Awarding Ceremony (morning) is dedicated to a special learning event about the ‘EU Taxonomy Regulation’ which comes as a first step for creating the new framework for SGI providers. The second part (afternoon) is dedicated to awarding the CSR Label to the applicants who have successfully passed the evaluation process of this edition.
