Thon Hotel Brussels, Rue de la Loi 75, 1040 Brussels
On Tuesday, the 30th of October 2012, the Centre for European Studies (CES) will host an event titled ‘Green and Secure: How to tackle flexibility challenges in an integrated EU power market’. Please join us from 9:00 to 12:30 at the Thon Hotel Brussels for a discussion of the timeliest topics surrounding the European Commission’s upcoming Communication on internal energy markets. Mr Günther Oettinger, the European Commissioner for Energy, will deliver the keynote address.
The event will also feature panel discussions among leading experts and stakeholders who will focus on the renewables sector and the role of private investment, address the key issues of electricity systems stability, and the case for a European energy market in order to achieve more security and economies of scale. The discussion will aim to inform Members of the European Parliament and their assistants, representatives of the European Commission and Council, business and industry groups, and stakeholders from think tanks and NGOs.
Lunch will be provided following the discussions, from 12:30 to 14:00.
Further information, including the full programme, will follow soon. We look forward to seeing you on the 30th of October!
