Event Description

From the 26th to the 29th of November, EUCIS-LLL organises the Lifelong Learning Week with the title “Rethinking skills: A civil society perspective” including events, conferences and workshops organised by EUCIS-LLL and its members. During one week, the role of civil society in education and training will be at the centre of attention.

The LLL Week will be composed of different events. Several conferences will present projects of EUCIS-LLL’s members. EUROCLIO’s Historiana project, “Your portal to the past”, an on-line multimedia tool on European nations’ histories will start off the week at the European Parliament on the 26th. The 27th, a SOLIDAR-EUROFOUND Conference on “Facing new challenges: how social innovation contributes to active inclusion” will discuss the results of Eurofound’s major study in 11 EU countries on policies to integrate young people with health problems or disabilities into the labour market. EUCIS-LLL’s traditional Public Hearing will open the third day. This year, it focuses on “Basic Skills for Inclusive Growth: A civil society perspective” as an echo to the EC’s communication on “Rethinking Skills in Europe” that partly aims to raise the level of basic skills.

To showcase best practices to illustrate theory, workshops will also be at the core of the LLL Week. “Parents-pivot learning”, a workshop by the European Parent’s Association, will underline the role of parents as providers of informal learning and partners of the formal education system on the 27th. Another playful workshop on “Technology Enhanced Learning with Game Based Learning” will be organised by ETDF on the 29th. Also, a Round table on “Building learning societies: Recognition and validation of learning outcomes of social work and volunteering” will be organised by SOLIDAR and CEMEA on the 28th.

All events are free and accessible upon registration; for more information, check www.eucis-lll.eu
