SwissCore and the Mission of Switzerland to the European Union will organise a Swiss Science Briefing "Reaching out to the world" with Mauro Moruzzi (State Secretariat for Education and Research), Jean-Luc Barras (Swiss National Science Foundation) and Laurent Bochereau (European Commission) on 26 September 2012 at the Mission of Switzerland to the European Union on 1, place du Luxembourg in 1050 Brussels.
With globalisation proceeding at a fast pace, "emerging" scientific powers are quickly catching up on the world stage. "Old" scientific powers must increasingly position themselves in a fierce competition for talent and knowledge.
But which approach to take? How to safeguard one’s long-term (national) scientific interests? How to strategically choose ones partners? This Swiss Science Briefing reflects on the International Cooperation in Science and Technology (S&T) in the light of both a new INCO S&T strategy at the EU level and the future Framework Programme for Research and Innovation "Horizon 2020".
