FOLLOWING a disturbing and deadly wave of recent terrorist attacks in Finland, France, Spain, Sweden and the UK, the Counter Extremism Project (CEP) invites you to join the Building Alliances - Preventing Terror conference, the foremost platform in Europe to discuss terrorism, terrorist financing and communications, and extremist ideologies.

The unique two-day forum will bring together senior policymakers and officials, as well as academics, industry representatives and advocates, to share ideas for tackling the spread of extremism and terrorist propaganda in Europe and online.

This year’s seminar builds on the 2016 ISC science-for-development seminar, which helped to advance the agenda for Europe-Africa cooperation, especially in the science field. The 2017 seminar – which again looks at science and innovation in the context of development – comes two months ahead of the AU-EU Summit in Ivory Coast. The summit’s theme is ‘youth’, a shared priority for both continents.

Join the European Cancer Patient Coalition (ECPC) and Eurocarers as they present their White Paper on Informal Carers of People with Cancer. The White Paper highlights cancer carers’ vital role for our patients and health systems, role which is often thankless and characterised by vulnerability and strain. The launch event is an opportunity to assess the achievements and shortcomings of the current policy framework with regard to carers, and identify ways forward for a fairer society.
