In the course of the ongoing State aid modernisation the European Commission approaches different sectors one after another in order to develop guidelines which take into account recent case-law. A close look at the different State aid levels of owner, operator and user is crucial to ensure the correct financing of infrastructure. There is a lot at stake at the moment when it comes to financing infrastructure in compliance with EU State aid law. Being well prepared and knowing what to expect is essential.
