 Dear correspondents,

Due to unforeseen events we have been obliged to change the start time of the press conference on Fukushima and the Ukraine crisis because of the sudden scheduling of a press breakfast between Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk and the Presidents of the political groups. This means that Rebecca Harms will be able to provide direct feedback at the press breakfast, which will follow this meeting.

The European Parliament elections, the elections for the President of the European Commission and the new College of Commissioners in 2014 will earmark an important year for European politics in general and for health policy in Europe in particular. In order to meet visions of a social and prosperous Europe, we need politicians and stakeholders who will champion smart, sustainable and inclusive policies while maintaining strong values such as universality, access to good quality care, equity and solidarity.
